Checkout Report: Cashier Collections/ Payments

Cashier Collection:

A Cashier Collection appears on an employee's Checkout Report when they collect cash payment for another employee's check.

Example:

  • Kate opens a check but William enters into Kate's check & accepts cash payment on the check causing William to have a positive Cashier Collection on his Checkout Report in the amount of the cash payment he received on Kate's check.
  • An easy way to remember this is that a Cashier Collection is the collection of a cash payment on another employee's check.
  • This process will create a positive Cashier Collection on Kate's Checkout Report.

Cashier Payment:

A Cashier Payment appears on an employee's Checkout Report when another employee accepts cash payment on the first employee's check.

Example:

  • Kate opens a check but William enters into Kate's check & accepts cash payment on it.
  • When Kate opens a check, Breadcrumb assumes she will accept payment on the check & will add a positive Cash Payment to her Checkout Report in the amount of the cash received on her check by William, however since the cash was not received by Kate herself but by William, Kate's Checkout Report will also include a negative Cashier Payment in the amount of the cash received on her check by William.
  • This process will create a positive Cash Payment & Negative Cashier Payment for the same amount on Kate's Checkout Report making the amounts added together equal 0.
