Epson Interface Cards

1 Prepare for installation Turn off and unplug all existing cables on the printer
Install Connect-It Card
Unscrew existing interface card in the back of the printer and save screws
Remove old interface card and unwrap Epson UB­E03 Ethernet interface card
Orient interface card with link lights on Ethernet port facing down and slide card into printer.
Screw interface card back into place
Prepare DIP switches
Flip over printer to expose metal covers hiding Dipswitch on the underside.
Unscrew metal plates to expose the two dip switch rows. See image 4&5
Set all of the dip switches to “Off.”
Switch on DIP switches
For TM­T88IIIs, TM­T88IVs, and TM­T88Vs: turn on switch 8 on DSW2; all others set to off
For TM­U220B: turn on switch 2 and 4 on DSW2; all others set to off
Test the configuration
Take a pen or other pointed object
Hold down the recessed reset button until a self­test prints and release immediately when the print begins.
If nothing prints, verify the card is plugged in securely (step 2) and dip switch configurations are correct (step 4)
Configure the printer
Change your laptop’s IP address to match the gateway of the Epson printer (
Connect your laptop to the Epson printer via Ethernet cable
Load up your browser and type in the printer’s address
On the printer’s configuration page, click “TCP/IP” under the “Configuration”
section on the left hand side of the page. On the body of the TCP/IP settings page, change the following information:
Change “Get IP Address” from manual to “Auto”
Change “Set using PING” from “Enable” to “Disable”
When complete, click Submit
On the next page, click Reset
7 Connect printer to network Once the printer resets, plug the printer into the network and allow the printer to be assigned a dynamic address
8 Verify configuration Test the printer receives a network address by doing a printer self­test (see step 5)
