Apple Pay & Android Pay - Contactless Payments

Breadcrumb release 2.7.3 includes support for Apple Pay, Android Pay and other types of contactless NFC payments. Apple Pay and Android Pay are mobile payments services and digital wallet apps that utilize Near Field Communication (NFC) to initiate secure payment transactions between contactless payment terminals and smartphones such as the iPhone 6, the Apple Watch and many Android devices.

Once you have your EMV reader set up, you are also ready to go with NFC payments. Here's how it works:

Once you're ready to collect a payment, tap payments > credit card.

On the credit card screen, tap authorize.

Once the EMV reader displays the "present card" message, your guest must activate their own payment app on their phone and hold the phone near the reader.

The reader will display the "processing" message and the lights at the top of the reader will all go green.

Once the authorization is approved, your guest's phone will display a confirmation and you'll see the payment authorization attached to the guest check.

Contactless (or NFC) payments are reported upon and settled just like normal credit card payments. You need not set up special accounts or processes to accept these payments.
